Some of the athletes were invited to the closing ceremonies and instead chose to celebrate with the team and of coarse their chiropractor!!!  This was a great night (even though the restaurant had almost no AC upstairs and it felt like we were all trying to cut weight)!  At one point, my friend Dr. Roberto, went to get an athlete to sign about 6 posters he had with all the Olympians on it (pictured above).  So he asked me to watch the posters which has a couple of signatures on them already.  My thought was, who would take your posters, dude?  So I started chatting with someone and not 2 minutes later Cael Sanderson, (google him if you need context) comes over, looks down at the posters, thinking they are part of the party favors rolls up all 6 and starts to walk away to put them in his bag as a souvenir!  So the last thing I want to do is chase him down and get the posters from him, but I said I would watch over the posters so that's what I did. Awkward!!!!!!  Cael laughed.... then pinned me in 1.4 seconds!

Jordan Burroughs on Leno!! Check out the clip too!!

What a great day for USA wrestling when Jordan Burroughs gets invited on Leno.  I was with Jordan yesterday and he filled me in that he had to bump up his flight to make Leno. Jordan will be on Tuesday night 11:30 pm eastern.  Got to meet Jordan's mother at the after party to Jersey bond with her...great woman.

Here is a side view of an interview Jordan was doing were he gives his Maximized Living Chiropractors some props, the Dr. Fred's.  Thanks Jordan for the free endorsement, soon companies will be paying millions for this kid to back there product!!

Jake Varner Takes gold!!!!!!

WOW!  What a way to end a great week for USA Freestyle wrestling.  Two gold medals (Jordan Burroughs and Jake Varner) and a bronze by Coleman Scott.  Talking with Coleman I asked him how it felt to win bronze and of course he responded, "I wish it was gold but it feels good to medal".  He had 95 guest cheering him on in London.  That is some fan support.  Great guy and great bronze.


Varner showed up big and wrestled extremely well.  The Ukranian in the finals was frustrated as he couldn't get to Varner.  His coach Cael Sanderson is so proud of Jake and his gutsy performance.

Jared Frayer, one of the great representatives for USA unfortunately pulled a very tough Belarus wrestler and was outscored the first match and wasn't able to wrestle back because the Belarussian did not make the finals.

Last match of the Olympics put Jake Varner against Ukraine. Jake is 96kg division. Would be a great way to end the olympic experience. Either way it ha been an experience worth blogging about.

Long Day, no posts, no Golds

USA started off sprinting with 2 wins by all three weight classes, Tervel, Jake H, and Coleman all won.  Then they all lost their 3rd matches which put them in contention for bronze

I was blogging all day yesterday from the Excel Arena with my IPAD which is now missing.  I don't think I misplaced it so I am thinking it might have been "borrowed".  Regardless, all day and 3 weight classes later, there were some good things that happens and some not so good things.  OUr heavyweight, Tervel, was anticipating a medal and was shutout in the bronze medal round in a tough battle.  Jake Herbert fell short in the bronze medal round also, but gave a valiant effort!  Coleman Scott shocked the world but not the USA contingency with a bronze medal.  Thrilling point scored in the last quarter of the last round to pull out a victory.  Overall a little less than expected but the guys fought their hearts out and I wish for them peace with their efforts.

I have videos and tons of pics just barely have a minute to post, especially now that my IPAD has abandoned me.

Jared Frayer and Jake Varner are our last 2 wrestlers and they wrestle at 8:30 am London time (3:30 am) eastern.  So I will try not to be posting results throughout.
